Thank You for an Incredible Weekend — and Don’t Miss What’s Next
Team DC family,
We have so much to be grateful for — and so much still ahead.
First, thank you to everyone who joined us for the Night of Champions Gala. It was a beautiful evening celebrating our community, honoring remarkable leaders, recognizing our scholarship recipients, and raising support for Team DC’s work. Your presence, generosity, and energy made the night truly special.
Thank you as well to everyone who came out for our Sports Mixers on Sunday at Spark Social and Crush. It was wonderful to keep the momentum going, connect across teams and leagues, and continue building the sense of community that makes Team DC so strong.
Even if you weren’t able to join us in person, there is still time to support our work through our 2nd Chance Silent Auction, which closes tomorrow, Friday, at 5:00 p.m. If you missed an item during Gala weekend — or just want one more chance to bid on something great — now is the time to take a look and help support Team DC’s mission.
We’re also looking ahead to our Sports Council meeting this Sunday, and we’re excited to see teams from across our community represented. Your participation helps shape the future of Team DC and strengthens the partnerships that make our work possible.
And don’t forget — more great community events are right around the corner. Be sure to mark your calendars for our upcoming Night OUTS with the Washington Prodigy, DC United, and the Washington Nationals. These events are such a powerful way to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride in sports while bringing our community together in visible, joyful ways.
Thank you for showing up, supporting Team DC, and helping us continue to create opportunity, connection, and pride through sports.
In solidarity and pride,
Miguel A. Ayala
President, Team DC
Silent Auction 2nd Chance
Take a look at the items that didn’t go on Saturday night. Maybe something you liked but forgot to bid, or something you left thinking “I should have gotten that.” Maybe, you’ve thought of someone it would be a great gift for. Either way, take a look at what’s left in our Silent Auction, and bid by 5pm on Friday, April 24th.

More photos remain to come in, but make sure you check out the coverage in the Washington Blade and Metro Weekly

All are invited to kick off the sailing season at a fabulous party in Alexandria, Virginia! It will be a great place to socialize and learn about sailing with our club. It's also a great opportunity for boat owners to find potential crewmates. The club will provide grilled meats and fish and numerous libations. If you wish to bring a salad, side dish, or dessert that would certainly be appreciated but is not required. (Please contact the host so that any side dish or salad offering can be coordinated.) We'll also run a short meeting, discuss possible membership dues and seek new officers to lead the club.
Reserve at our meetup site: https://www.meetup.com/rainbow-spinnakers-sailing-club/events/314323100/?eventOrigin=group_upcoming_events
Address will be provided once you reserve for the party. The party will take place rain or shine.
