PRIDE IS HERE!

Team DC family,

Happy Pride Weekend!

This is one of our favorite moments of the year — when our leagues, teams, athletes, fans, families, and friends come together to celebrate the power, joy, and visibility of LGBTQ+ sports in Washington, DC. Whether you are marching with us in the parade, stopping by our booth at the festival, or just cheering on our community all weekend long, we cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Team DC will be out and proud all weekend, and we hope you’ll join us. Come march with us in the Pride Parade, visit us at our booth, meet some of our member teams, and learn more about the many ways you can get involved in LGBTQ+ sports across the DMV.

And the celebration does not stop there.

We are counting down to Pride Night OUT at the Nationals on Wednesday, June 24, one of Team DC’s signature events and one of the longest-running LGBTQ+ sports nights in professional baseball. This year’s event is shaping up to be an incredible night at Nationals Park, featuring a pre-game drag show as soon as gates open, a special First Pitch by Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, and a post-game party at Dacha Navy Yard to keep the celebration going after the final out.

We are proud to honor Dr. Daskalakis for his extraordinary leadership in public health, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, LGBTQ+ health, and community-centered advocacy. His work reflects so much of what Pride is about: visibility, service, courage, and care for our community.

We also want to thank everyone who joined us at F1 Arcade as we sent off our local athletes and supporters heading to the Gay Games in Valencia. It was a fantastic celebration of Team DC, LGBTQ+ sports, and the athletes who will represent the DC region on the international stage.

And speaking of Valencia — our Team DC gear is here! We have new Gay Games shirts, hats, and trading pins, along with other Team DC items available for purchase on our website and during Pride Weekend. Whether you are heading to Spain, marching with us in DC, or just want to show your Team DC pride, this is a great time to grab your gear.

Pride Weekend is a celebration, but it is also a reminder of why our work matters. LGBTQ+ sports create community. They build confidence. They make us visible. And they remind every athlete, fan, and teammate that they belong.

We’ll see you at Pride — and we’ll see you at the ballpark.

In solidarity and Pride,
Miguel A. Ayala
President, Team DC

State of Firsts follows Sarah McBride’s historic campaign to become the first openly transgender member of Congress. The film explores themes of leadership, representation, public service, and what it means to serve with empathy in a deeply polarized moment. You can watch the trailer here, released exclusively by Deadline.

This summer, we’re launching a limited theatrical run in cities across the country, and we’re excited to share that we will be screening in Washington D.C. from June 26 - July 2 at Angelika Pop-Up at Union Market.  On June 28 and 29, Director Chase Joynt will attend for a conversation after the film.

The George Mason University College of Public Health is conducting a Daily Care Study related to day-to-day parenting practices.  The study has tried to broadly recruit parents from across the country, but we are missing the vital voices and perspectives of LGBTQ+ parents.

Our study recruitment flyer is attached to this email, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with your personal and professional communities.

Most parents who live in the United States and reside in the same home as their 5- to 15-year-old child(ren) ARE eligible to participate. They can earn up to $125 for their time. PLUS, get entered to win $300 in 2 raffles.

We are hoping to conclude our recruitment period by the end of June, so please don't hesitate to share with potentially interested parents!

Why is this research being done?  Parenting is hard and important! It has many highs and lows, challenges and successes, but a lot of research about parents and parenting has not included all families. It’s time for us to get more than one-sided stories!

The purpose of the study is to increase our understanding of how today’s parents manage the day-to-day responsibilities of taking care of a child between the ages of 5 to 15 years old. By learning from their day-to-day experiences, we hope to better support all parents, caregivers, and their children.

What will participants need to do? Study participation is completely online and can be completed from a location of their choosing, from their computer, tablet, or smartphone. Interested parents will be asked to complete:

  • A brief virtual screening

  • A baseline survey

  • 14 days of daily brief surveys completed in the evening

  • A follow up survey 6 months later.

The Last Time Stocks Were This Expensive Was December 1999.

"Right now, it's good. But it was in '72, '86, 2000, and 2007." - Jamie Dimon, May 2026.

The Shiller CAPE ratio just hit 42.3. The only time in 140 years it's been higher? December 1999.

Stocks can stay expensive for a long time...

It’s one metric to consider, but when your portfolio is built around the most expensive equities in modern history, what else you diversify with could really matter.

Blue-chip contemporary and post war art has shown near-zero correlation with the S&P since 1995.* Prices are largely driven by private collectors competing for a fixed supply of artwork by artists like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.

Masterworks lets you invest in shares of that market.

  • $1.3B deployed across 500+ artworks

  • 29 exits to date

  • Net annualized returns like 16.5%, 17.6%, and 17.8%, not including those unsold
