Sportsgram 2025 Vol 23
Our local LGBTQ+ sports updates and member news

As we close out an incredible year for Team DC, we’re excited to kick off the holiday season with two big moments for our community. First up: our annual Team DC Holiday Party, a chance to come together, celebrate our athletes and leagues, and support the DC LGBTQ+ Center through our coat and clothing drive. We’re also marking Giving Tuesday today, an opportunity to invest in the scholarships, events, and programs that make our sports community stronger year after year. And with 2026 already on the horizon — including dates for some of the Night OUT series (INCLUDING THE DATE FOR THE NATS), more social events, and our biggest Night of Champions Gala yet — we can’t wait to share everything we’re building for the year ahead. Let’s finish the year with pride and momentum!
We’re closing out an incredible year for Team DC, and we’d love for you to join us as we celebrate our sports community, our athletes, and everything we accomplished together in 2025. It’s a chance to reconnect off the field, welcome new players, and reflect on how far we’ve come as a community. We hope you’ll make it a part of your holiday season.
Good friends, good vibes, and a full year to celebrate leagues, teams, and the World Pride Capital Cup.

Coat & Clothing Drive benefiting the DC LGBTQ Center — please bring a new or gently-used warm item if you’re able.
Your Giving Tuesday donation to Team DC directly supports the athletes who make our community so extraordinary.
With your help, we:
• Strengthen LGBTQ+ teams and leagues across the DC metro area
• Host the Night OUT series, bringing thousands together in celebration of sports and pride
• Support our traveling teams to national and international tournaments, including the Gay Games in Valencia, Spain next summer.
• Award scholarships to LGBTQ+ high school student-athletes who inspire with their leadership and resilience
Every dollar ensures LGBTQ+ athletes have a safe, visible, and affirming place to play, compete, and grow.
This Giving Tuesday, invest in our athletes. Invest in our future. Donate to Team DC.

Every first Thursday of the month, DC Lambda Squares (DCLS) hold 30-min introductory dances for anyone interested in square dancing. No appointment or registration is needed, anyone can simply show up, learn how to dance for free, or just socialize. Free snacks and beverage are always provided by the club.
November 7-10, our club hosted an annual square dance weekend called "Harvest Festival Hoedown" in Harrisburg, PA. About 140 new and experienced square dancers from around the country and Canada attended the event. It was the 29th year of the club hosting the event.
Since August, we have hosted a weekly beginner square dance class. The class introduces newcomers to square dancing and to members in the DC metro area. Class fees are less than $10 per 90-minute class, and financial aid provided by the club is available. Graduates of the class will also receive free DCLS annual membership for 2026 and discounted rates to future events as first-time attendees.
And we dance every Thursday from 7-9pm at the National City Christian Church.
Till next time,
