Celebrating Our Community
As we wind down the year that has been, many of our teams, families, workplaces, and other communities will come together for some holiday cheer and celebration. We are no different. First of all, we hope many of you will join us this coming Monday at the DC Center for a “Cheers to Out Sports!” hosted by the Wanda Alston Foundation to celebrate the charitable supports our teams and leagues provide to organizations like theirs. Also, we are putting the final touches on a Team DC Holiday Party — a festive way to come together before we kick off an incredible year ahead. I would love your input on a time/date that works best. We have narrowed down the weekend of Dec. 4th - 8th as an option. Fill out this quick survey to let us know what day/time might work best - and if you want to flag any conflicts to me, you can do so directly via email. In 2026, we’ll return bigger and bolder now that we have the dates for the Night of Champions Gala, Night OUT at the Washington Capitals, Night OUT at the Washington Wizards, and soon, the much-anticipated Night OUT at the Nationals. Team DC is growing, and we’re looking for passionate community leaders to join our Board of Directors to help shape the future of inclusive sports in the DMV. Email me at [email protected] to express your interest.

Team DC is proud to partner with the Wanda Alston Foundation to celebrate all the incredible charitable work our Member Clubs have done this year in support of their mission to house and support DC's homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
Organizations like the Wanda Alston Foundation are able to provide these life-saving resources because of the generosity and spirit of our athletes, teammates, and sponsors. Every dollar goes a long way, and thanks to you all, lives are being changed.
Join us for the Special Thank You Event to celebrate YOU! Join us Monday, November 17 at 6pm at the DC Center.
Enjoy a free open bar, light bites, and meaningful connections with the teammates and community that keep this movement strong. RSVP Here.

As mentioned above, fill out this quick doodle poll to let us know WHEN our Holiday would work best for your schedule.
And if you want to sponsor our Holiday Party, you can do so by CLICKING HERE.

Football fever has swept many of our members up, so we are ONCE MORE bringing you a Commanders event. This time, Sunday night at HER DINER we will gather again to cheer on the home team, and raise money for the Team DC Scholarship Fund.
We are selling squares for a raffle, with prizes for every quarter - so that’s 4 chances to win per square. Our board is almost half sold, so get your squares now HERE.

On Thursday, November 20 at 8pm, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is hosting an Equality Night Performance of Julia Masli’s Ho Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha Ha and Team DC members are invited. Woolly’s affinity performances are designated for audience members who share a particular identity as an intentional space for community building and celebration. While these performances are open to all, this affinity nights prioritizes the needs of LGBT+ identifying audience members to be seen and celebrated in theatre spaces, and process complex questions about sexual orientation and gender and belonging while in community. Find out more about the play below!
Last time she was at Woolly, she sold out the house, earned Helen Hayes Award nominations, and left D.C. audiences roaring (and maybe questioning what just happened). Now, award-winning Estonian clown Julia Masli returns to Woolly with a holiday remix of her international hit ha ha ha ha ha ha ha—newly wrapped, ribboned, and ready for whatever festive chaos you bring.
In ho ho ho ha ha ha ha, Julia once again sets out to solve people’s problems—only this time, they’re holiday problems. From family meltdowns to gift-related despair, she’ll tackle it all with nothing but her heart, her leg, and a questionable mission to help humankind. No script. No plan. No guarantees.
The performance will be followed by a post-show Happy Hour in Woolly’s Lobby.
Woolly Mammoth offers a special rate of $25 for tickets to the Equality/Pride Night. Go to- https://www.woollymammoth.net/productions/ho-ho-ho-ha-ha-ha-ha/ and use the code: EQUALITY to purchase tickets.

About the Show
Winner of 4 Tony Awards®, including Best Choreography and Best Costumes, and the Grammy Award® for Best Musical Theater Album, SOME LIKE IT HOT is “A Super-Sized, All-Out Song-And-Dance Spectacular!” – The New York Times
Set in Chicago when Prohibition has everyone thirsty for a little excitement, SOME LIKE IT HOT is the “glorious, big, high-kicking” (Associated Press) story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters hot on their heels, they catch a cross-country train for the life-chasing, life-changing trip of a lifetime.
And what a trip it is! With its irresistible combination of heart and laughs, song and dance, SOME LIKE IT HOT won more theater awards than any show in its season, and was named Best Musical by the Drama Desk, The Drama League, and the Outer Critics Circle. No wonder Deadline calls it “a tap-dancing, razzle-dazzling embrace of everything you love about musical theater.”
Winter Wonderfest at Nationals Park
On select days from November 28 – December 30, Nationals Park transforms into a fun-filled winter wonderland featuring tubing, curling, and train rides, plus an adults-only Après Chalet by Fireball.
Come on out on December 11 for Pride Night, featuring an exciting lineup of local LGBTQ+ performers on the wonderfest field. Gather your crew and join us this season at Nationals Park!
