World Pride and Capital Cup Information and Member Announcements

Team DC is preparing for the Capital Cup and WorldPride. We are finalizing plans for games and events, a couple of Nights OUT, and many other fun events. We also are preparing for our participation in the parade and for the two-day festival, including fundraising opportunities for our member teams.

Join us this Sunday, May 18, starting at 5pm as we hang with Nats mascot Screech, at Crush Dance Bar to get people ready for our 20th Anniversary of Night OUT at the Nationals.

Join us for the 20th Annual Night Out at the Nationals. We are happy to announce drag and trans icon, mother of all that is fabulous - SASHA COLBY - will be throwing out the FIRST PITCH.

And we are bringing you a drag show at the ballpark, as soon as the gates open. So get their early and support our local drag kings and queens in a first-of-its-kind show. We have been working on this part of the night for months and couldn’t be prouder of our work to support our community 365 days a year.

Inita D hosts this star-studded warm-up to the game, featuring our locals queens and kings - King Molasses, Druex Sidora, Mari Con Carne, and Iyana Deschanel.

🏀 Night OUT at the Mystics

Join us on Friday, May 30, 2025 for Night OUT at the Mystics. Ticket includes a special limited edition WorldPride fan. Clack that fan with us on the court after the game for a mini-ball.

Member News Roundup

Over the last almost two years, dedicated members of Team DC member team Cheer DC have been working on a new era of Cheer DC. Follow cheer_dc on social media to catch their big announcement, as they continue to dedicate their mission to raising awareness, funds, and spirit for local LGBTQIA+ organizations. @dcs.different.drummers has prepared a selection of queer standards – from timeless classics to today’s latest hits – for their free World Pride Jazz Series with @dcpubliclibrary !  You can see DCDD's Jazz Big Band in their featured performance at Lamond Riggs Library on Wednesday, May 28, at 7PM.

Expect bold voices, real stories, and big DC energy at Story District's 15th annual pride month showcase on Saturday, May 24 at the Howard Theatre! Celebrate World Pride at the Smithsonian's "Pride Family Festival" on Sat May 31 from 11:30AM–3PM. Head to the Smithsonian American Art Museum to see performances by @dc.different.drummers @gmcwashington @genout_youth_chorus @gridlockdance @lestalusan and to enjoy the beauty of @americanart 🌈

We’re Looking for Volunteers

It’s going to take an army of volunteers to pull off IGLA+ 2025 DC. We need help setting up and executing all of the sporting events and we could use some extra hands during the social events too. Please sign up to be an IGLA+ 2025 DC Volunteer! And share this link with your friends and family who will want to help us make this event a huge success!

Cycling season is finally here! OutRiders is a social cycling club in Metro DC for the LGBTQ+ community. We are free to join and organize through MeetUp (https://www.meetup.com/outriders-dc-va-md/), but also have a presence on Instagram(@dcoutriders) and Strava (OutRiders). To see our full schedule of upcoming rides, join our MeetUp group. We meet at Smithsonian Metro every Thursday at 6:15pm for a 14-20 mile social-pace ride. Route changes every week and there's always a post-ride hangout! We also offer a wide variety of weekend rides: from casual, in-town social-pace rides to epic centuries in the mountains, and everything in-between. Hope to see some new faces out riding this summer!

Local legend Hudson Taylor is coming to the Capital Cup to teach you a thing or two on the mats! University of Maryland's all-time leader in pins will be our guest coach for our Beginners Clinic, a three-hour introduction to the sport of freestyle wrestling that's part of District Wrestling's Capital Cup events!

The Atlantic Stampede Country Dance Celebration is a three-day event (June 4-6), sponsored by the Atlantic States Gay Rodeo Association. Enjoy 4 dances over 3 nights with 2 full days of dance workshops. Evening events will feature community contra, square, circle and barn dances, plus open two-step and waltz, featuring live musical performances and calling from some of the most talented and highly regarded LGBTQ+ artists in the United States.

This is a drop-in singles bowling league that will be meeting every Thursday at 7:30pm starting May 15th and running until August 9th.

The league will be held at Bowl America Shirley at 6450 Edsall Rd, Alexandria, VA 22312.

The cost is $25 per week, and is a fundraiser for the CHIT bowling tournament being held in October

CAMP Summer Bowling League

There is a summer league in Falls Church this summer that will be meeting every Tuesday at 7:30pm starting June 3rd and running until August 19th. The league will be held at Bowlero Falls Church at 140 S Maple Ave, Falls Church, VA 22046. The cost will be $23 per week and will be a 3-person team format.
