Sportsgram Vol 14

Officially Fall.....Maybe?

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to some cooler weather. I am also looking forward to seeing all our members at all our upcoming Fall events. Our schedule is packed with fun for everyone. As we close out September, we wanted to let you know what we’ve been up to.

We had blast at Metrobar at our Sapphic Social last Sunday. We raised a little over $800 to support our scholarship and outreach work. Special thanks to Elle Camino who performed and donated her tips, and to DJ L Stackz who kept us moving with the tunes.

On September 18th our Board VP Grace spent a day with Maryland Parks and Recreation at the 2SLGBTQIA+ Summit. She shared her story of competing as an out athlete and what participation in LGBTQ sporting has done for her life. Then she shared resources with the rest of the conference attendees.

This month we also welcomed 3 new board members and a new intern. Joe Scavetta will be our board member for External Relations and Legal, Adam Luddeke will be our board member for Marketing & Social Media, Kelsey Touré will be our At Large board member and will also co-chair the scholarship committee. Our new intern is Varunavee Mohanraj who comes to us from George Washington University.
